Ciao a tutti and Howdy Ags!Welcome to June and with that comes the tourist season in Italy! May was traditionally a shoulder month however we saw increased crowds in May and it’s becoming harder to tell when it’s not tourist season. This May was much drier than last year. It should help with the annual olive tree pollination that occurs in May and June throughout Italy. This year we had less than an inch of rain at our home compared to 2.5 inches last year. We hope the rain will continue to be slow and light for a while to allow for bud break and pollination to be completed on the olive trees throughout the country. This is one of the most critical times in the olive groves and we know the farmers can use all the help they can get.
